The Peddars Way Bridle Route (North)

Leaving the Brecks at Scoot Wood on the Fincham Drove. This route continues for a further 38 miles/61km to Holme-next-the-Sea.

The Swaffham Bridle Route

21 miles/34km on tracks and minor roads in the Brecks and the rolling farmland around Swaffham. It links with the Massingham Bridle Route via the old Peddars Way. Norfolk County Council have published a leaflet on this route

Swaffham Bridleways

There are many bridleways in the Swaffham and Beachamwell area for riders to enjoy, although some are crossed by busy roads. The dangerous ones are marked on the map as not recommended. These can be found on OS Explorer 236 King’s Lynn, Downham Market & Swaffham.

The Hockham Riding Trails

Forestry Commission has waymarked 6.5 miles/10km of peaceful Riding Trails in the forest at Hockham and Stow Heath. They include a useful deboxing site at Frost’s Common.

The Harling Drove

This route is a gentle ride through the heart of Thetford Forest with views of ancient heaths and meres (link to Wildlife & Heritage 1.7) and links with other bridleways which make up a wider network of routes throughout The Brecks.
